Kids Bamboo Toothbrush - Extra Soft Bristles
Ditch Plastic
Plastic toothbrushes are an environmental disaster. They are made from plastic which is usually not recyclable, take up to a thousand years to break down, and 80% of the estimated 3.6 million used worldwide per year end up in the sea where they pose a real threat to marine life and habitats!
Enter The Bamboo Brush
Made with sustainable and biodegradable/compostable Mao bamboo handles and BPA free soft Nylon bristles, our very own Greener Habits Bamboo Toothbrushes are the perfect solution to planet polluting plastic brushes. We are estimated to use 300 toothbrushes in our lifetime, so this switch really will make a big difference!
The Handle
The handles are made from Mao bamboo- the fastest growing woody plant on the planet. Its an Eco-friendly and naturally sustainable material which grows spontaneously without the need for pesticides, and has a fast regrowth cycle- much much faster than wood.
All of our bamboo toothbrush handles are heat treated to carbonise them. This process gives them a lovely quality finish, but also makes our brushes water-resistant, which helps to prevent the growth of microbes (bacteria and mold).
We chose an ergonomic shape for all of our brushes, as this lets you grip it securely and retain control over your brushing technique.
And don’t worry about the Pandas, they don’t eat this type of bamboo, so won’t go hungry if you use one of these brushes.
Suitable for Children:
These brushes have a small and lightweight handle, which is perfect for little hands.
The Bristles
All of the bristles used for our children's brushes are extra soft and BPA free Nylon, and come in array of colours- which is very helpful if you have a couple of kids in the family, but also having a vibrant bristle can make toothbrushing more fun for the little ones!
Disposing of your toothbrush
The handles on all of our toothbrushes can be composted, but the bristles need to be removed before composting, which is very easy to do. We shall make a video on this soon!
Who made your brush?
At Greener Habits we only stock products which are planet, animal and people-friendly. This also means making sure the people who make our products are paid fairly and treated well.
Our toothbrushes are ethically made in a family run business in China which employs 50 people. They are paid a very fair wage, 25RMB per hour during the day, and 35 RMB per our during the night (I have been informed this is very fair in China), and work in a clean and safe environment.
