Organic & Fairtrade Cotton Tote Bag - Greener Habits Co.
Ban the Plastic Bag:
Globally we use approximately 5 trillion single use plastic bags a year. That’s 160,00 per second. Scarily most plastic bags are not biodegradable, taking up to 1000 years to decompose, and only a very small percentage are recycled. They are damaging to the environment, but also cause harm, and even death, for many wildlife each year.
Enter - The Reusable tote bag:
Make a statement for a Greener world with this 100% organic and Fairtrade cotton reusable tote bag. It is ideal for those looking for a bag for every day use. We think its far more appealing to the eye than a plastic carrier bag, and a lot more fun to use.
Why organic?
Organic cotton is grown without pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers. An organic cotton bag has therefore been grown in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
What is Fairtrade?
Where Organic is about the product, Fairtrade is about the people.
These bags are made from Fairtrade Certified Cotton and carry the Fairtrade Cotton Mark. For a cotton tote bag to carry the Fairtrade certification mark, the cotton farmers must meet Fairtrade Standards. From the growing and processing of the cotton to the manufacturing of the bag, all areas have to be compliant to meet the Fairtrade Standard for cotton.
The bags are made in India, but designed by us and printed in the UK using water based vegan inks. Water based inks are more environmentally friendly as they do not contain ozone depleting chemicals. They are also free of any volatile solvent and are therefore considered to be more environmentally friendly, when compared with solvent-based products.
Why only undyed cotton bags?
We chose to have bags only made with organic undyed cotton fabric, because this is much kinder to the environment than dyed cotton.
By purchasing a 100% Organic and Fairtrade cotton bag you are voting for a more eco-conscious and fair world.
